2011 Czech Paint Trail Ride set for June 12

April 29, 2011

Join the Paint Horse Club Czech Republic on June 12 as they ride the wooded paths, meadows and hilly terrain of the “Na Vyhlidce” Ranch in Zlin. Club president Silvie Lecikova says the event, which attracted 39 horses last year, has a friendly atmosphere and is open to all breeds and riders of all ages.

Na Vyhlídce Ranch—which means “at the viewpoint" in Czech—will host the ride once again. Located in the southeast, it’s tucked in beautiful, hilly country with plenty of room to ride.

“You can expect a lovely ride through hilly forests with small streams and large meadows and few stops,” said Lecikova. “There will be a lunch break with tons of food and drink, at least four hours in the saddle and a party in the evening with a live band, barbecue, games—time to have fun.” Stalls are available in a cozy barn for those who would like to board their horses overnight.

The ranch—home to about 60 horses, many of them Paints—is run by Alice Machu and Milan Zbranek, strong supporters of the breed and the club. “They are totally devoted to their job and horses, and because of their easy and friendly attitude, people just love to come and relax,” Lecikova said. The couple also stand Pepsi Skippin Scotch, a 2003 buckskin tobiano stallion imported from the U.S.

“In the Czech Republic, people usually do not mind horses on private land,” said Lecikova. “It is no problem to ride for hours in forest and meadows which makes horse riding extremely exciting here.”
